Report: Lexus working on a high-performance CT200h

by David Bond

We all know by now that the Lexus CT200h has not been a huge success and so the company is now considering a high-performance model to tackle the same.

Not much detail is available as of now but Lexus International Executive Vice President Mark Templin told in an interview that if they had put a second powertrain in that car, the company would surely have done a lot more volume than what has happened currently.

Mark also said that people really loved the hybrid powertrain, though he was quick to admit that the company missed a segment of the market for people who want fast cars. He was quoted saying, “A lot of people liked the looks and liked the way it drove” but they wanted something faster.”

The executive did not confirm a high-performance variant but did state that in the future, the company may need to offer both an entry-level hybrid and something a tad more powerful.

Well it is certainly good news for the speed lovers but at the same time we also hope that the company has got it right this time and they do not disappoint like the CT200h.
