In recent days Volkswagen announced of coming up with Amarok pickup updated version to offer the entry-level model with some extra weight.
The Amarok engine collection includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged TDI unit delivering 120 hp and a 2.0-liter BiTDI twin-turbo powerplant we 180 hp.
In addition to the above, the Amarok will receive a 140 hp version of the 2.0-liter TDI instead of the 120 hp one, with this also producing a torque of 340 Nm (251 lb-ft).
The change is not likely to affect the fuel efficiency, which currently is at 6.8 liters per 100 km or 34.6 US mpg.
As far as speed is concerned the 0 to 62 mph sprint time reduces by 0.6 seconds, to 12.6 seconds, while the top speed is now 168 km/h (104 mph) instead of 162 km/h (101 mph). As for sprint is concerned, the 140 hp Amarok now completes the 80 to 150 km/h (50 to 93 mph) run in 5ht gear 0.5 seconds quicker.
The list of options for the Amarok is now better, with features such as the Park Pilot with a rear-view camera, the RNS 510 navigation system and others.
The Amarok 2.0 TDI 140 hp has got a price tag of €24,317 in Europe particularly.
