Volkswagen AG has accepted a recall with Germany’s KBA motor vehicle authority of 800,000 diesel automobiles adjusted with emissions cheat software.
Volkswagen stated Friday that KBA has approved software application repairs on Passat, CC, and Eos models with two-liter diesel engines. Owners of these models in Germany have already received a letter notifying them of the recall, Volkswagen stated.
“Volkswagen is working at full pace to carry out the technical solutions and will rectify all vehicles affected by the NOx problem,” the automaker said in a statement.
A KBA spokesman verified the repair had actually been approved, although didn’t provide more information.
Volkswagen is striving to recover from the global crisis that began last September when the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) revealed Volkswagen had set up cheat software to cheat tests in more than 500,000 diesel-powered automobiles in the United States. It later encompassed 11 million car global recall, 800,000 of them in Germany.
The automaker revealed it had actually taken an $18 billion charge connected to its diesel emissions scandal, requiring it to slash 2015 dividends. The German company revealed last month that it had actually returned to benefit in the very first quarter, but revenues moved for its Volkswagen brand and in China.
