Volkswagen to Compensate Few US Car Owners

by SpeedLux

A leading auto website stated that Volkswagen is planning to provide cash to American owners owning diesel cars that were intentionally functioned to give false information on emission tests.

The blog “The Truth About Cars” stated on Saturday that Volkswagen will declare the move in the future days as part of their “TDI Goodwill Program.” It states the payouts will have $500 with no restrictions, and a second fund of $500 to $750 that will be restricted to use at VW dealerships.

Volkswagen has not stated anything publicly on the report.

During the beginning of this month, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency had also linked some bigger VW, Porsche and Audi cars produced by the automotive firm to illegal software.

Although Volkswagen officials have denied that the software in such cars was made to underreport emissions.
