If you can hardly wait for the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show event to start, you may as well take a look first at the vehicle models that will potentially make it to the event. Speaking of which, one of them will be a company developed by the Swedish automaker, Volvo. The company has officially announced that it will be bringing the S60L Twin Engine to the Shanghai-bound auto expo this year.
The S60L Twin Engine itself is scheduled to go on sale starting from April 22, 2015. Sales are to begin from the country of pandas, China. The car will reportedly take advantage of a plug-in hybrid engine configuration. As reported by Volvo, this means that the car will receive its power from a conventional 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, the company’s Drive-E engine, and also from a single electric motor unit. In addition, the engine configuration will also include a lithium-ion battery pack with a total capacity of 11.2 kWh. Thanks to such an engine configuration, the car is capable of squeezing 306 PS of power output and 550 Nm of torque.
So far, the Swedish company has yet to release details in regards to the performance that customers are to expect from the vehicle. However, the company does confirm that the battery will enable the car to go as far as 53 km on a single charge. Additionally, when customers need to recharge the battery as it is depleted, the time required will only be as short as three and a half hours.
