We have known thanks to previous reports that the Swedish automaker, Volvo, is working their magic on a new version of its XC90. Yet, we have yet to come across any images of the vehicle that clearly show the car performing out on the roads. In fact, there has been little news on the vehicle. But now, we have actually acquired such photos. The car has been spotted out in the open, without any disguise. As can be seen in the images, the car has been caught on camera standing firmly on a snowy mountain somewhere in Europe, it seems.
Taking a close look at the images that depict a white example of the aforementioned vehicle model, it can be seen that the car has a number of badges that say ‘Test Vehicle’ on them. Taking that into account, this may as well mean that the car was captured on camera as it was undergoing some test drive sessions for a potent customer. Interestingly enough, the car was caught on camera standing right next to its outgoing model, even with an identical paint hue.
For your information, the Swedish automaker first took the veil off the new Volvo XC90 back in August last year. Yet, it was not until December 2014 that the automaker started opening the order book for the vehicle. The car came with quite a few engine options for customers to choose from. For a start, it came with an AWD D5 diesel engine capable of 225 bhp and 470 Nm of power and torque. In addition to that, there is also the AWD T6 petrol variant with 320 bhp and 400 Nm of power and torque. Last but not least, customers can also avail a plug-in hybrid variant, the AWD T8, which has a total power of 400 bhp and a total torque of 640 Nm. Volvo claims that within only 47 hours, all examples of the vehicles, totaling 1,927 units, were sold out. So, it is actually interesting to see a new Volvo XC90 being test driven by a potent customer.
