by SpeedLux

Citroën has recently confirmed that a production version of the DS Wild Rubis concept will be launched next year in China.

The car will receive the “DS X7” nameplate and will be manufactured only in the country of China by the Changan-PSA joint venture. Production is scheduled to commence in late next year while first deliveries will be made subsequently in the first part of 2015. As of now the company has no plans of selling their car in Europe, but this could change in the near future.

It will utilize the same platform as the DS5 and will come fitted with its 1.6-liter turbocharged engine generating an output of 163 hp (121 kW). There are reports that are indicating that the car will also be offered with a beefier 1.8-liter turbo but the company hasn’t confirmed this engine as of now.

In related news, Citroën is also working on another China-only model which will be a sedan version of the DS4 and it is set to reach dealerships sometime in the year 2014.

We can expect more details to be out soon for this production model and we will update you regarding the same.
