General Motors to offer new energy vehicle subsidy in China

General Motors stated on Tuesday it would offer a 36,000 yuan ($5,229) discount to Chinese customers on its Buick Velite plug-in hybrid car when it will be on on sale in the nation later on this year.

The automaker stated it would provide the brand-new “energy vehicle” subsidy because of unpredictability over Chinese government aids for such vehicles. The Velite gets power from an electric battery system that is charged utilizing a small gas gasoline.

GM’s Buick brand made the statement during the event before Shanghai Motor Show.
