The new McLaren MP4-12C received so far more than 2700 firm expressions of interests which is the equivalent of two years of production.

The McLaren MP4-12C was officially unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the beginning of the month and it was received with applauses by the show attendants. The new McLaren model entered the final stages of development after numerous tests on all continents and the production is expected to start at the beginning of 2011.

MP4 has a price of less than £175,000 and company’s boss Ron Dennis declared that buyers will be receiving the fastest car that money can buy.

The MP4 is powered by a Ricardo-developed twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre 90-degree V8 engine that can rev to 8500rpm, with its maximum 592bhp output arriving at 7000rpm.

The car’s performances are impressive: MP4-12C can reach 124 mph in less than 10 secs, and stop from that speed in less than 5 secs. It is also capable of stoping in 30 metres when running at a speed of 100 mph.
