Renault Eventually Shows Off the Kadjar

by SpeedLux

It was just about one month earlier that the automotive marquee based in France, Renault, unveiled its latest compact crossover model, the Kadjar. Back then, the vehicle made its debut on the interweb but now, it has officially arrived at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show event. So, what does this new compact crossover from Renault have in store for customers spending their hard earned cash on it?

Well, to begin with, the car is going to take advantage of the CMF platform, a platform that Renault develops by working in close collaboration with the Japanese automaker, Nissan. Yet, judging by the exterior look of the vehicle, there is in fact quite a good chance that Renault has designed the Kadjar with its Clio supermini and Captur subcompact crossover in mind. The Kadjar seems to have a little of both these vehicle models in terms of its visual design.

Those who are keen on buying this new compact crossover from Renault will be allowed to choose whether they want one with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain. Also, since the vehicle has a ground clearance measuring 19 cm in total, those who drive this car will not have to worry about bumpy roads or even flood altogether. Add that to a sill guard made of the stainless steel material and skid plates available at both the front and rear ends of the car and its owners can really have peace of mind while driving the car through even the most challenging roads.

As for the engine options, customers can opt for a 1.5L turbodiesel engine, for a start. With this engine, customers are going to get 108 bhp of power output. Or, they can go for a more powerful 1.6L engine with a total power output of 128 bhp. Last but not least, there is also going to be a turbocharged 1.2L petrol engine, also with a total power output of 128 bhp. Customers will receive either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed EDC automatic transmission according to the engine type they go for.

The Renault Kadjar will officially go on sale summer this year itself. Sales are to start at Europe. Then, after Europe, the car will also go on sale in China, England, and also the Mediterranean Basin as well as African countries.
