Saleen supercar coming in two years

by SpeedLux

Steve Saleen has officially revealed certain new details about his much awaited super car.

In an interview to Motor Trend, Saleen stated that the super car will be launched within two years and would pick up where the S5S Raptor concept left off. Though the fact remains that the S5S Raptor dates back to 2008, Saleen mentioned that this car will be significantly improved and updated according with the changing times.

He did not reveal any details on what will power the model, but if we talk about S5 Raptor, it had a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that could generate 650 hp (484 kW) and 630 lb-ft (853 Nm) torque. With this engine, the car could accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 kmph) in just 3.2 seconds and could hit a top speed in excess of 200 mph (321 kmph).

The S5 Raptor was originally slated to go on sale in the year 2010 and was also slated to have a base price of around $185,000 (approx €138,110). But these plans went into the shelf when Steve Saleen resigned from the company in the year 2007.

Well lot would be expected from this super car and it does create a lot of excitement.
