There has been no change in the name that Mercedes-Benz has given to its newly unveiled 2011 CL-Class car. There have been lots of changes that have been effected on its visual aspect though. It also heralds the introduction of a new engine family named Move. The first leaked images of the 2011 CL63 and CL65 AMG indicate one of them as sporting a twin-turbo V8 engine.
The unofficial specification of the cars also have been received which includes pricing details too. A 6.o liter twin turbo V12 AMG engine which is rated for 630 hp and 738 pound feet of torque is installed on the CL65 AMG. The CL63 AMG would be fitted out with a 544 hp version of the 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 that is also fitted on the standard CL-Class cars. The 5.5 liter engine that is installed on the CL550 4Matic and rated at 429 hp would be cranked up to give more power in the range of 500 plus hp.
These specification or performance statistics, especially the power places the CL class in the supercar genre. The weight and handling package would place this car in the ultraGT car genre. For the price tag, the CL65 AMG is expected to be staring from $207,000 in the US while the CL63 AMG would be starting at $145,000.
