BMW continues the testing for the xDrive35i and 50i models that will be unveiled later this year, reason for which new spy photos of the BMW X6 have been released. The 35i model was for the first time spotted by spy photographer Palbay, and it seems that based on the photos, the car will have a different front fascia compared to the top model 50i.
The X6 has received some new upgrades in the visual department, having changed the headlights, received a front and rear a pros, as well as LED-powered white corona rings for daytime running lights and taillights.
Resembling the new 6 Series, the kidneys have been redesigned, the grille receiving some new bars that give the car a 3D aspect since they are not as flat as they used to be. Aerodynamics have also been improved by the slats in the two new air intakes.
The most important change that has been done to the 2012 BMW X6 is the fact that a new X6 model will be introduced by BMW to the European market: BMW X6 xDrive50d, which is rumored to have the tri-turbo diesel engine. The power of this engine will peak around the 400 horsepower mark and the standard consumption is also reportedly lower than comparable diesel engines.
The powerplants in the X6 xDrive30d, xDrive40d, xDrive35i and xDrive50i will be revised as well by the company, receiving updates regarding higher power and better fuel efficiency.
