A brand new four-door 2012 Brute Double Cab will be presented by American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) at this year’s SEMA show. It will be a fitting occasion because the original Jeep based Brute pickup truck debut at the SEMA show in 2002. Back then, the original Brute was billed as a rugged utility vehicle with excellent styling and high quality, qualities that have been associated with AEV ever since. The new Brute Double Cab features the newest JK Wrangler making it a truly powerful and unique off-road vehicle.
The Brute Double Cab is expected to attract a new set of clients for AEV. With the original Brute, the company became popular with off road enthusiasts looking for something different. With this latest Brute incarnation, AEV hopes to tap the growing overland travel market. With a big seating and storage space, the new Brute Double Cab is perfect as a camping vehicle. This new off-road vehicle also has the potential to take AEV to the mainstream market because it is one off roader that families would definitely consider getting, especially families with adventurous inclinations.
As far as looks are concerned, the new Brute Double Cab definitely shares the DNA of the original Brute. Looking at it though would also remind people of the Land Rover Defender 130. The new AEV vehicle has a total wheelbase of 139 inches or 23 inches more than the regular JK Wrangler. The overall length of the vehicle is 216 inches making it more than a foot longer than the original Brute.
Because it has more off-road capability than a regular truck, the Brute Double Cab is clearly not meant to be a substitute to a normal pickup. And because it has more cargo room and carrying capacity than a Jeep, this vehicle is definitely in a class of its own. AEV is projecting a production release of the Brute Double Cab by mid-2012.
