Officially announced at the 2011 New York Motor Show, the 300C SRT8 2012 model from Chrysler is powered by a  6.4L Hemi V-8, producing around 465 horsepower, and 465 lb-ft of torque, the same as in the Dodge Charger SRT8. This engine will allow the Chrysler 300C SRT8 to go from 0 to 60 in approximately 4 seconds, and hit a top speed of 177 mph, which is an improvement from the previous model (0-60 in 4.2 seconds).

The fuel economy is also improved – and this by an amazing 25 percent, although it’s heavier and more powerful.  The 300C SRT8 will break from 60 to 0 in 36.5 meters, pretty good for a car that weighs 1,835 kg. Also, the new brakes, though the same as in the previous model will have a new cooling system.

As far as luxury is concerned, the possible buyers of this car will be pleased to find much change in comparison with the previous model. There is a 8.4 inch touch screen display, as before, but now it also comes with standard navigation system, and is able to control the amazing 900W, 19-speaker Harman/Kardon stereo.

The looks of the car, while maintaining the main muscle-car theme are getting more rounded, thus getting the 300C SRT8 closer to the 4-door sedan appeal.

Direct competition is the Dodge Charger SRT8, and there will be some battle between these two great cars.
