Recently, Lexus announced the 2012 Lexus LS 460‘s specs and the European specs for 2012 IS-F model. Well, now the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation has released details on the mildly updated IS series for the North American market.
In 2012, the three models of the IS’s range (the sedan, convertible and the high-performance IS-F), remain virtually unchanged considering that the upgrades are limited to color and equipment features.
For example the IS sedan models receive a brushed up color palette as Nebula Gray Pearl replaces Smoky Granite Mica and Fire Agate Pearl replaces Glacier Frost Mica.
The IS Convertible gets Nebula Gray Pearl exterior, which replaces Smoky Granite Mica.
The sedan and hardtop convertible comes with a 2.5-liter V6 (204 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 185 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,800 rpm) and a 3.5-liter V6 (306 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 277 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm).
And the last but not the least, the 2012 IS F receives a new and wider 19-inch forged wheel design after gaining an updated suspension last year. In adition, the 2012 model comes with an all-new Red leather-trim that replaces the Orange/Black combination seating and interior theme.
The Lexus IS F is exclusively powered by a performance-tuned 5.0-liter V8 engine connected to an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift transmission. This engine produces 416 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 371 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 5,200 rpm. The 2012 IS F gets a new set of 19-inch wheels and a red leather interior package that replaces the previous orange-on-black theme.
The details about pricing weren’t released, but keep in mind that the next year will likely to add about $3-5,000 to the current price which is as follow:
