by SpeedLux

In 2011 Ford showcased the new Mustang Boss 302 at the Auto Show Coverage in L.A. highlighting its 70s design and maintaining a position between the GT and Shelby GT500. According to Ford, the new school bus yellow exterior honors the Bud Moore 1970 Trans-Am series of Boss 302 of Parnelli Jones. The over-the-fender stripe called the “Hockey Stick” reflective graphic is a classic of the 1970 Mustang Boss 302.

Apart from the 70s design, Ford revised a few things such as new HID head lamps and LED surrounded tail lamps. When the doors are unlocked the LED lamps project the legendary mustang logo onto the ground. Across the board all models get new hood extractions with air extractors, HID fog lamps which are removable, new splitter and grille giving it an intense. Some options include SelectShift function, Torsen limited –slip, Brembo brakes, and Recaro seats.

The new style features a prominent nose, re-styled tail, tweakedaccents and trim and continues to be powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine that delivers 444 horsepower. Ford integrated in this model the SYNC in car connectivity system which allows Bluetooth phone connectivity, USB digital music players, and the most important 911 assist emergency dialing and on demand vehicle health report.

Ford has surely improved on the Mustang since the 70s. If you have never driven a Mustang be sure to test drive the new Boss 302 once it hits the streets.
