2013 Ford Mustang Will Come With Shelby GT500 Styling Cues And Increase In Power

by Ionut Dragomir

Today we reported about the 2015 Ford Mustang, which might come with a “radical redesign” and some technical updates. Well it’s time for a model closer to our time. We’re talking about a model that will debut in 2013 – a redesigned Mustang.

So far very little has been official satated about this “redesign”, but, thanks to MustangsDaily’s inside sources, now we have for you some new details about what to expect from the 2013 Mustang model.

It seems that it will be getting a fairly significant redesign, with many styling cues from the current Shelby GT500. These changes will be more clear at the front of the car and include the larger, protruding upper grille and smaller, rounder lower grille. However, the new model will come with some modern touches including LED lights, most likely for the fog lights in the lower front fascia.

According to the same report, the new model will keep the same 5.0L V8 and 3.7L V6 engines. Still, Ford will be giving a slight bump in horsepower to the Mustang GT (no word on the V6) to be more on par with the Camaro SS. So far, the exact power of the Mustang GT is unknown, but it will likely come in right around 425.

Look for the 2013 Mustang in November at the L.A. Auto Show.
