Skoda is known to be working on a new vehicle model and now, there have been pictures captured depicting what seems to be the 2015 model year Superb from the said company. These pictures seem to have been taken in the country of China. It seems that the company is having a good time here in this country as it is now the largest market it has in the world.
The vehicle model from this particular automaker from the Czech Republic has actually been spotted quite a few times before. Yet, unlike before, the vehicle has been spotted very nearly without any camouflage at all this time around. The car is spotted testing in China with its exterior painted in white. The car seems to have borrowed some of the styling cues from the company’s VisionC concept. Hence, it is built on the MQB platform. However, it is very unfortunate that the car does not retain the sharp and aggressive design of the headlamps previewed on the VisionC concept. As for the remaining parts of the vehicle, they look very nearly the same as those of the concept.
The upcoming Superb model will have its capacity increased to 625 liters, probably thanks to the hatchback opening design of the car. Better yet, when the rear seats are folded, the total cargo capacity reaches 1,760 liters.
In terms of performance, future buyers of the vehicle can expect three engine variants at least. These variants include a 2.0L TSI, 1.8L TSI, and a 1.4L TSI engine, all of which will have four cylinders. There will also be diesel engine options for customers in the European market.
The 2015 Skoda Superb will reportedly be manufactured by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture, both in China and in the Czech Republic. For your information, it is this joint venture that is also in charge of the manufacturing of the current generation Skoda Superb. The car is slated for debut at the next Shanghai Auto Show, sometime in April 2015.
