2016 Volkswagen Tiguan GTE – Frankfurt Motor Show

Volkswagen has debuted the second generation of Volkswagen Tiguan GTE at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The second generation VW Tiguan is lighter than the previous model by 110 pounds. There are also changes on its dimensions. For example, it is 2.4 inches longer and 1.2 inches wider. The width of the wheelbase has increased by three inches. The larger dimensions has increased the capacity of the passenger seats. The back seat now has an extra 1.8 cubit feet. There is an extra 1.1 inches knee room. It offers the 12.3 inch Active info display screen as an option for customers.

The 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan GTE features a front bumper with a wide grille and a sporty style rear bumper. It is estimated that the car will enter into the market by Fall 2016. The main target customers will be those who enjoy driving larger vehicles. The 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan GTE is available in front wheel and four wheel drive systems. Volkswagen has also debuted the concept of a plug in hybrid at the show. The plug in hybrid run on a 1.4 liter TSI engine and 13 kWh lithium ion battery. In the hybrid version, the DSG transmission system is equipped with an electronic motor that enables it to generate up to 215 hp. The lithium ion battery can last for up to 31 miles when on electronic power.
