Great news! As a new generation supra is going to be released by 2013 or 2014 which was confirmed by the famous Toyota boss Akio Toyoda. But his wish may not be up to the released date as it may take a little delay for bringing up his new Supra. But looks like the odds are up against him as the other head personals of the company are not onto this plan and to respond to it the Toyota boss recently spoke at a press conference that he “wants to see the next Supra tested in the near future, even if one president says that we want to have a Supra again, the whole company is not going to be responding to that request.” This statement has made issues whether to bring up or suppress the issue of safety or just let it go, this seems as a small tug-o-war within the Toyota establishment.
The recent 2007 Detroit motor show saw the new generation Supra this was previewed by the FT-HS concept. This new generation demon was rumored to be powered by a V6 power train. The car also has a 5.0 liter V8 engine producing 450 hp and 383 lbs-ft of torque was also lately rumored.
Well we see a tight schedule ahead for Toyota as if the next Supra, if produced will have a convertible and in coupe versions. And by the time the delayed FT-86 sports car is introduced the future models will also be introduced in parallel to it. And also the company plans to bring up a new MR2 small sports car.
