Reports indicate a new Mazda is in the offing which would be a small SUV and is expected to be up for sale towards the end of 2011.
The car has been named CX-5 and shares its looks and design with the Kazamai Concept that had been unveiled back in 2008. For power the car would have the ultra efficient new generation Sky engine. This is the same engine that will also go on to power the new MX-5. Mazda appears to be gearing up to take on the Land Rover Evoque with the new CX-5. They have also stated their vehicle would be 100 kg lighter than the Land Rover Evoque. There is an expected brake generation feature which should help in increasing fuel economy by about 30 percent. The new small SUV will feature start-stop technology as well which will also contribute to enhance fuel economy.
