Mercedes-Benz has been acknowledged as the top brand among the premium international car manufacturers according to the recently released Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2011 ranking. It secured the 12th place coming in ahead of BMW which held the 15th spot. Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota came in at 11th place while the best global brand of 2011 was awarded to soft drink producer Coca-Cola. Other notable companies that are also on the list are Honda, Volkswagen, Audi and Ferrari. Ferrari was placed at 99th spot whereas Honda and Audi secured 19 and 59 place respectively.
According to the study, the brand equity for Mercedes Benz has registered an increase of 9 per cent over last year, and is currently worth 27.455 billion US dollars. The world-class brand had secured the 12th spot in previous year ranking as well. Their revolutionary environment protection technology called “BlueEFFICIENCY” was highly praised in that report.
The “Best Global Brands” ranking is conducted every year to measure the value of international brands. Interbrand, Zintzmeyer & Lux conduct this study to select the 100 most valuable enterprises over the world. Many corporations favor this study to get feedback about their brand impression over the consumers.
