Cisistalia 202E Concept

Site DefaultPress Releases14 years ago12 Views

Cicistalia was a small car manufacturer founded in 1946 in Italy. Its most famous model was the 202 Coupe that was produced between 1947 and 1952. The design of this car was created by Battista “Pinin” Farina.

In the honor of the 65-year old 202 Coupe, some students from the Instituto Europeo di Design (IED) thought of a reinterpretation of this car, but in a more modern version.

This reinterpretation got the name Cisistalia 202E, where the “E” stands for evolution.  The students said that this is reflects the original design, but gets the advantage of being fitted with the most modern engine and performance.

According to the designers, the new model has the purpose of suggesting the idea of movement. That’s pretty much what the original model did.

This is where the comparison with the old model stops being appropriate. The Cisistalia 202E concept will get a V-8 engine that delivers 450 horsepower, and comparing it with the 1-liter 55 horsepower original one that allowed a top speed of 160 km/h would be just wrong.

This concept will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show from 2012 that starts on the 8th of March. We will find out whether or not this car will go into production, and if it will, what kind of specifications and performance it will get.
