There have been rumors swirling around the internet recently which suggest that the luxury German automaker, BMW, is going to introduce new M variants of the X5 and X6. These rumors also suggest that the company is going to introduce these models during the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show, which is scheduled to take place in November 2014. Well, it seems that these rumors are quite accurate, after all. BMW has now released a teaser video of the X5 M and the X6 M. Yet, there is only very little to discover from the teaser video.
Ironically, it seems that the German automaker is trying to make a little fun of the paparazzi out there, the photographers that are well known for their fondness of snapping some spy shots of prototypes that are undergoing some manufacturing tests. Nevertheless, the photographers have, somehow, actually managed to snap quite a few shots that may well give the rest of us some clues about how the new models are going to look like.
Judging by the spy shots, the upcoming BMW X5 M and X6 M will look sharper as well as more aggressive. They are very likely to come with air intakes larger than those of their standard variant counterparts. In addition to that, these upcoming models will also feature quad-exhaust tips as well as M fenders. Under the hood of both the upcoming M models, we can also expect to see an increase in the power output.
It is believed that the new M models of the X5 and X6 from BMW will have higher power than the former M models of the X5 and X6. The former models count on a 4.4L V8 engine with twin turbochargers, capable of delivering 555 hp and 500 pound-feet of torque. Taking that into consideration, the new BMW X5 M and X6 M are likely to boast a power output of 575 hp in total. This is similar to what the standard M5 can offer with the Competition Package from BMW.
