If you remember correctly, back in September 2014, an example of the Porsche 918 Spyder, one of the rarest and most legendary supercars in the world, caught fire and burnt to crisp at a gas station in Toronto, Ontario. US. Now, another example of the luxury German super sports car has to suffer from a similar fate yet again, this time in China. Is it really hard to drive this particular supercar, which costs approximately £654,600 or is it just the driver speeding beyond the limit?
Well, up to the present, details are still pretty scarce in respect to this particular incident in China. Yet, judging by the condition of the luxury German car at the crash scene, chances are, the driver happened to lose control of his car somehow while driving the car at a narrow street.
The car then hopped on past a curb and then crashed to a tree by the side of the street. The front fascia at the driver’s side suffers from very severe damages. As a matter of fact, the front quarter panel and wheel of the car very nearly got ripped off as well.
Judging by the severity of the crash, it needs no questioning that it could have very well injured anyone that was inside the car at the moment of the incident. Furthermore, there was even not any emergency personnel to be found on site when the crash took place. However, images of the incident shows two men standing close by the car. There are, of course, reasons to believe that these two men must have been the driver and passenger of the Porsche 918 Sypder that ends tragically on the residential Chinese road. However, these two men seem quite unharmed.
Driving such a super sports car needs full concentration. The likes of the Porsche 918 Spyder can go out of control quite easily, thanks to its 4.6L V8 engine which is paired with two electric motors. The engine spits out 887 hp of power output when it hits peak performance.
