Alfred Morris refuses to leave his 1991 Mazda, despite signing a $3.5 million deal

The Dallas Cowboys inked running back Alfred Morris to a two-year, $3.5 million offer previously this off season. It’s the second NFL agreement Morris has gotten after being a sixth-round choice in the 2012 draft. Due to the fact that he was taken so low 4 years ago, he wasn’t signed to a profitable offer like lots of first-round choices are.

He did, though, earn over $3 million in those 4 seasons with the Washington Redskins. And now with $1.8 million ensured coming his method, Morris has actually earned himself lots of cash. Yet, he still won’t quit his 1991 Mazda 626, which he purchased from his pastor for $2 as a college junior.

“Yes, I still have my vehicle,” Morris stated through Five Points Blue. “I still drive ‘Bentley’ which is exactly what I call my automobile despite the fact that she’s not really a Bentley. It’s constantly going to be my child and I’m going to drive it ’til she passes away.”

Morris got a considerable quantity of publicity for his trip during his days in Washington, and Mazda even refinished it for him. However he wasn’t going to leave the car back in D.C. He brought it to Dallas with him, though he didn’t make the long expedition in it.

Not due to the fact that the car was going to fall apart, but since he needed to get to Valley Ranch in short order.

The primary reason Morris still drives the automobile is due to the fact that he’s not a flashy person and didn’t grow up with much. So having this 25-year-old automobile reminds him of his past and keeps him with the ideal state of mind in spite of being a millionaire.
