Columbus, Ohio-based Nationwide Children’s Hospital got one extraordinary donation following the auction of two automobiles related to Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Earnhardt Jr.’s 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle restomod and the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports NASCAR race vehicle were sold as a set, bringing in $400,000 for charity, Fox Sports reported.
“This is a package deal,” Earnhardt stated from the auction stage. “This is an unbelievable chance for someone. We’re raising a great deal of cash– all the money that we raise tonight will go to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital. … Ideally, we get a big number for these kids and take it all the way to Columbus, Ohio.”
Earnhardt Jr. likewise personally threw in a driver’s suit from the 2016 race season, a helmet, a set of Daytona 500 tickets and a private tour of Rick Hendrick’s Heritage center. These goodies pushed the bid up from $350,000 to the final price of $400,000.
The large amount will be sent out to the charity hospital without any costs or commission.
