The luxury British automaker, Bentley, is known to be carrying out some tests on its upcoming SUV model, the Bentayga. Well, as the tests were taking place somewhere in the vicinity of the Arctic Circle, someone managed to get hold of several images of the vehicle. Fortunately enough for the car enthusiasts out there, these spy images reveal the car quite much, thanks to the fact that it was wearing minimum camouflage when caught on camera. As a matter of fact, it was only the headlamps and taillights of the vehicle that were wrapped in disguise when the car was spotted.
In case you forget, this first ever SUV from the British automaker is actually an evolution of the company’s much criticized model, the EXP 9 F concept vehicle. According to the British automotive marquee, the Bentayga is going to be the most luxurious as well as powerful SUV model all over the world and that it is going to redefine the SUV market segment.
Using a platform similar to the one that underpins the Audi Q7 (the 2nd generation), the MLB platform, this latest offering from Bentley, unfortunately, is not going to be a lightweight vehicle at all. For reference, the 2nd generation Q7 from Audi weighs in at almost two tons, or 1,995 kg to be precise.
Stepping into the cabin of the Bentayga from Bentley, buyers of the vehicle will be eligible for a largely sized touchscreen display panel, a digital instrument panel, rounded air vents and, for the rear passengers, there are going to be individual seats, ensuring high level comfort.
So far, the luxury British brand is not keen on revealing any information officially just yet. Nonetheless, word has it the car is coming with either a 6.0L W12 or a 4.0L V8 engine. It is also believed that in the oncoming 2017, the model will receive a plug-in hybrid variant as well. Well, in case you forget, it was only recently when Wolfgang Durheimer, CEO Bentley, announced officially that the company would offer a V8 engine for the first time ever. The Bentley Bentayga will expectedly make its launch next year.
