BMW recently revealed the Gran Lusso Coupe concept at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and a latest report is indicating that it could preview an 8-Series Coupe.
Automotive News has reported that several sources have confirmed that a production model is under consideration inspite of the fact that officially it is being called as a one-off model. One of the source explained that the company wanted to send out a message that the future is not all about electric cars but also traditional models with real emotional appeal. The insider even went on to say that the model hasn’t received a green signal but the Gran Lusso Coupe concept hints at what a production model could look like.
Just to remind the Gran Lusso Coupe is based on the 7-Series and features a V12 engine. Detailed specifications have not yet been released, but the engine is likely a 6.0-liter unit that will produce 544 HP (400 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque.
