The automaker that calls itself Buick has just released an official teaser image. This image seems to preview the company’s upcoming Excelle model. According to the company, the car will make its very first appearance in full come March 2, 2015.
According to the most recent reports that are currently swirling around the World Wide Web pages, the Excelle is bound to be treated with a visual makeover. It is said that the vehicle will look a lot like the Opel Astra for the 2016 model year. In the US automotive market, the latter will be known as the Buick Verano. Paying attention to the official teaser image from Buick, it can be seen that the headlamps of the next generation Excelle will come with a much more elegant design when compared to the ones featured on the prototype unit of the Opel Astra K. This makes good sense, considering that Buick is actually a luxury division of Opel. Another element that the Opel/Vauxhall Astra won’t have that is featured on the upcoming Buick Excelle is the new, shiny grille on the front fascia of the vehicle.
While some believe that the vehicle teased by Buick is actually the next generation, the third one, Excelle, some people out there are still questioning whether or not this is simply a facelift variant of the model. After all, the second generation Excelle has been around since January 2010 and is known as the XT Hatchback in China. Then, in the year 2011, Buick also introduced a GT sedan model bearing that moniker. After that, early in 2013, the automaker also launched a facelift of the Excelle. Taking that into consideration, it seems that what the company has recently teased is actually going to be an entirely new Excelle model.
It is reported that the 2015 Buick Excelle will make its world debut at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show event which will kick off on April 20, 2015. Unfortunately, the car will be available only in the Chinese market.
