Cadillac is known to be working hard on the next generation model of the CT6. Speaking of which, the company has been reported to be prepping an aluminum body for the vehicle. It is said that the upcoming Cadillac CT6 will weigh in at a lighter weight when compared to the company’s CTS.
As reported by the Automobilemag, the entirely aluminum body will make it possible to weigh lighter than its aforementioned brother in spite of the CT6 actually being larger in size. The luxury US car manufacturer claims that the car will sport an evolutionary design. Unlike what most people guess, that design is not going to be inspired by the Elmiraj Concept, which in itself is a very attractive and jaw-dropping vehicle model.
Although official details have yet to come from the US automaker in question, it is a known fact that the model mentioned here will come with a video streaming rearview mirror. As reported in our previous post here, the rearview mirror inside the cabin will feature a TFT LCD panel with a total resolution of 1280 x 240 pixels. The mirror will also have a pixel density of 171 pixels per inch (ppi).
Rumor has it the car will count on the new, full-size Omega platform from General Motors (GM). Power is to be sent to the rear wheels by a new V8 engine which may come with either four or six cylinders altogether.
For your information, the CT6 stands for Cadillac Tourer 6. This implies that the car will be slotted under the BMW 5- and 7-Series and also the Audi A6 and A8. The Cadillac CT6 will make its world debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show. It will go on sale somewhere around the end of 2015, as a 2016 model year vehicle.
