Caterham Seven 480 & Seven 620R headed to the U.S. thanks to new distribution deal

by SpeedLux

Caterham and Superformance have recently joined hands which will make the latter company Caterham’s new US distributor.

The details about the deal are limited as of now but Superformance will import a variety of Seven variants which are primarily the higher-power incarnations of the car. However we feel that it sounds quite vague but the company has confirmed plans to offer the Seven 480 and Seven 620R which comes with a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine that generates an output of 311 hp (232 kW) and 219 lb-ft (296 Nm) of torque.

The unfortunate part is that the cars will be shipped to the USA in part-built form and sold as a rolling chassis which means the customers will have to complete the build themselves or hire someone else to do so which is weird and unimaginable.

Caterham CEO Graham Macdonald said that in the last two years, the company had significantly broadened its reach internationally and that signing a new official distributor in the form of Superformance in America was a natural extension of how their brand was expanding, rapidly, across the globe.
