A new report has recently revealed some details of the Caterham’s version of the Alpine revival which is being developed jointly with Renault who will get its own version.
Internally the Caterham Alpine has been named as C120 and will be a two-seater sports car that would be significantly different than Renault’s variant. In fact its design has already been signed-off and is expected to feature a totally different exterior body and interior configuration, and even the engine tuning and steering will be Caterham’s own. Though the cars will come with identical horsepower and torque outputs, Caterham has plans of expanding the lineup with different power figures after the first car is out.
Talking about the output, we can expect it to be somewhere around 250 hp (186 kW) but if the sources of Caterham are to be believed, they are aiming to touch the 300 hp (224 kW) figure. The output of the Caterham Alpine will be generated from an entirely new Renault-sourced engine which isn’t in production as of now. The two-seater will also come with an aluminum body which should help the car to become lighter and have a curb weight of just 1,100 kg (2,425 lbs).
