Chinese auto brands gain larger market share during January-February

The share of Chinese passenger auto brands in the domestic market boosted in the first two months of the year according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAMA).

More than 1.63 million Chinese brand passenger cars were sold in China throughout this period, showing an increase of 20.3 percent year on year.

The market share of these brands represented 44.6 percent in the country in the January-February period, thus increasing 2.2 percentage points year on year.

In February alone, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars increased 27.9 percent year on year to about 634,000 units, with a market share basically unmodified from the same period in 2021.
