Alpine, a French automaker under the possession of Renault, has very recently released a number of teaser images of the Vision Gran Turismo concept car. The images can be seen on the company’s official posts on Twitter. As its name implies, this car will be made exclusively available for the racing/driving simulation video game, the Gran Turismo 6. Judging by the images released, the car will have a very futuristic look with an articulated, pivoting design. It has a glasshouse roof that stretches over the top of its body and in addition to that, the car also features four enclosed wheels.
These teaser images, however, are not the first ones released by Alpine regarding its Vision Gran Turismo concept car. Back in December 2013, the automaker in question also released a teaser image of what it envisioned a Vision Gran Turismo concept was supposed to be. So, a year has gone away and the company is only offering the second sets of teaser images. Ironically, these images may not even represent the final design of the model in question just yet. The thing is, Alpine has entitled the images as ‘style exercise no. 2’. So, taking that into consideration, there is quite a good chance that we may see a major redesign of the Vision Gran Turismo concept from Alpine.
Just for your information, the Vision Gran Turismo project for the Gran Turismo 6 is a project that sees no less than 28 automakers design concept cars that are going to be featured exclusively on the corresponding video game title. Among these automakers are Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Aston Martin, BMW, Nissan and Mercedes-Benz. Quite interestingly, both the Japan-based Nissan and Germany-based Mercedes-Benz have even created a real-life version of their Vision Gran Turismo concept cars. The cars have even been put on display for public consumption as well.
