Daimler Buses on Friday has said that it has provided 99 Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses to the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (ADDT) of the United Arab Emirates.
The ADDT is aiming to significantly expand and modernize the UAE capital’s transport system and these buses are expected to play a major role in that strategy.
As Daimler Buses states, these are low-floor buses, which were produced at the automaker’s production site located in Mannheim, Germany.
These buses are geared up with the Euro-VI emissions standard complying powertrain. The company also stated that these buses are maintained under a five-year full-service contract from Emirates Motor Company Commercial Vehicles (EMC CV), the Mercedes-Benz authorized distributor in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and member of the ALFAHIM Group.
Previously, the automaker provided 100 units of the Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses to UAE back in 2009. Since then, this is the second major order in the United Arab Emirates for the company.
