Be on the lookout and warm up your DVRs and Camcorders to record the fastest spec series in the world, in which the Dodge Viper Cup series shall debut in the track for its inaugural race at VIR this weekend, as it gets the green flag.
All of the sports cars in the series are purpose-built special editions of Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X. The series is powered by a 640 hp and 605 pound-feet of torque level resulting from a massive 8.4-liter V-10 engine. The car is about 160 pounds lesser in weight than the production model. Yet the sedan incorporates a full aerodynamic package that improves down force at high speeds. I am sure you would love these automobile monsters as they make for some of the most brilliant racing on the track.
This weekend will actually see the first two events run, as the series doubles up at each track it’s going to, with a race on both Saturday and Sunday of each race weekend. First up is Virginia International Raceway, followed by Hallett Raceway, Pocono Raceway, Miller Motorsports Park, and Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch.
Versus, starting July 24, shall have the television coverage of the event. Unfortunately, many around the globe won’t get the full events, but a 30-minute digest version of each race.
