According to Italian magazine Quattroroute, Ferrari is preparing a hybrid version of the 599 GTB, which will be presented as a concept in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
This concept is expected to use a KERS-like brake regeneration system that charges lithium ion battery pack, start-stop technology and electric boost. Electric motor is reportedly incorporated into the rear transaxle.
Fuel economy is expected to improve by 35% from 27 l/100 km to 17 l/100 km on urban cycle. That translates roughly to 13.8 mpg from current 8.7 mpg. Thanks for the tip Joel!
