A recent report from a Dutch media indicates that the luxury sports car maker from Italy, Ferrari, has been recalling all 499 examples of its LaFerrari ever built. The media reports that this has been caused by a potent fire risk issue. Well, we would tell you that this is really something you can believe and there is actually a strong reason to do so.
In case you have forgotten, the modern day cars with the prancing horse badging on them are very prone to fire, seriously. There are plenty of recently developed Ferrari models that tend to catch fire even when the car is not even running at all. The cars just burst into flames even when parked. So, apparently, it seems that the Ferrari LaFerrari is not invincible to this fire issue, either.
According to the most recent reports, the luxury Italian automaker is actually contacting owners of all 499 examples of the Ferrari LaFerrari to bring in their car for some ‘adjustments’ – as the company calls it – that will be applied onto the fuel tank of the vehicle model in question. Ironically, though, the Italian company refuses to call this as an official recall. However, as you can see from the adjacent image, this process is hardly a minor ‘adjustment’ since the rear end of the vehicle even has to be completely detached to fix the fuel tank issue. This image, by the way, has been taken in a Ferrari dealership in Germany.
As reported by the Autocar, Ferrari unveils that all 499 examples of the model will be receiving the so-called ‘fuel tank adjustments’. Ferrari claims that it will need approximately eight hours to complete the fuel tank adjustment of a single LaFerrari unit. Also, the company claims that owners of the car should not worry too much as there is ‘no’ fire risk.
