Ford Motor is preparing to resume production on February 10 at its production facilities located in China with joint venture partner Chongqing Changan Automobile, a spokesman for the American automaker said on Wednesday.
The production plan for its factories in Chongqing and Hangzhou comes as regional governments have extended Lunar New year holidays to rein in a coronavirus that has infected thousands and killed over 130 people in China.
The reopening of the plant is set eight days after the end of the extended Lunar New Year holiday in China. Chine is currently the world’s top car market.
Similarly, Renault also plans to resume their plant in Wuhan on February 10.
