It was reported before that VW had officially introduced the Golf R Touch concept at the 2015 CES event. Well, it seems that the German automaker has more surprises up its sleeves. Now, the company has also introduced the Connected Golf Concept vehicle model during the CES in Las Vegas, US. The German company claims that this is a vehicle model which emphasizes strongly on the possibilities that can be achieved, thanks to networking.
The VW Connected Golf Concept comes with the most recent version of the company’s so-called MIB II vehicle infotainment system. This system supports a host of apps and in addition to that, it is also compatible with a decent number of tablets and smartphones in existence out there. Of course, as can be expected, the new system attempts to harness the benefits of the online world, hence the name Connected. It is reportedly going to feature quite a few clusters where applications and features will be implemented.
In addition to that, Volkswagen’s new technology is also known to work with Apple’s Car Play as well as Google’s Android Auto platforms. Support for the MirrorLink technology is also available, which makes it possible for car owners to mirror what is currently being displayed on their tablet or smartphone to the display of the onboard vehicle infotainment system.
If all those mentioned earlier are still not quite enough just yet, the Connected Golf Concept from VW will even feature a Trained Parking System. Utilizing a camera, this system will scan a path that is driven frequently heading to a car parking spot. Afterwards, the vehicle will be able to execute that very path almost automatically.
Last but not least, there will also be an Intelligent Charge function that utilizes inductive charging method. Volkswagen also claims that its future vehicles are bound to come with dedicated lights to indicate if the battery of its vehicles has been completely recharged of if they are still being charged.
