The automotive marquee from the German soil, the Volkswagen Group, has officially announced to the public that it is planning to launch no less than fifty vehicle models, both completely new and improved versions, in this 2015 fiscal year. Well, the company has not really given complete details yet in respect to this matter. However, chances are, these fifty vehicle models will include the Volkswagen Touran, Skoda Superb and the Audi Q7, all of which were introduced only recently. Additionally, the Volkswagen AG has also announced its plans to release a revised version of the Volkswagen T6 and a completely new SEAT Ibiza. Even more interestingly, the company has also announced the imminent arrival of the Porsche 911 facelift and, here is the real shocker, the Porsche Boxster Spyder. Yes, you heard that right! Finally, there is going to be an open top variant of the Porsche Boxster.
Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, the chairman of Volkswagen, has also made it clear that all these upcoming vehicle models will have already been equipped with internet connection by the year 2020. In addition to that, he also unveils that both Volkswagen and Audi will have successfully equipped their vehicle lineups with the self-driving technology.
Well, in case all those bits of news above are not interesting enough already, the Volkswagen AG also goes as far as to unveil that it successfully sold 10.1 million units of vehicles to the consumers around the world in the previous year. As such, the increase in revenue last year achieved the figure of 2.8 percent to reach the figure of 202.5 billion Euros (which is equivalent to approximately $215.3 billion). Last but not least, back in the fiscal year 2014, the company even posted an operating profit worthy of no less than 12.7 billion Euros (which is equivalent to somewhere around $13.5 billion).
