Google Joins Uber on driverless cars

Google has made a union with carmakers and taxi-hailing companies to assist steer the policies needed to make self-drive vehicles a reality.

Consisting of Ford, Volvo, Uber and also Lyft, it will lobby lawmakers and regulatory authorities on some of the legal obstacles.

Previous US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration official David Strickland will be its spokesperson.

The union also aims to encourage the general public of the benefits of driverless automobiles.

“Self-driving technology will boost public safety and movement for the disabled and elderly, reduce traffic jam, enhance ecological quality, and advance transport effectiveness,” the group stated in a declaration.
