Sony has recently made an announcement of its plans to release a demo version of Gran Turismo 6 on July 2.
The demo is being released as part of the GT Academy competition which would give contestants a chance to get behind the wheel of a real race car. The contestants will compete for the fastest qualifying times to advance to the National Finals where they will contest for a spot at the Silverstone race camp. The qualifications will take place between July 2 and July 28.
Even if one is not interested in the GT Academy, the demo will allow the person to test the Gran Turismo 6 before it is launched later this year. The demo will be relatively limited but include several models of Nissan such as the Leaf, GT-R and 370Z.
Asad Qizilbash, Senior Director of product marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America stated that the PlayStation community has always proven that Gran Turismo’s racing mechanics translate to the real world of race car driving, with racers who first cut their teeth racing in Gran Turismo now competing on the world stage.
