Hyundai’s offering in the luxury car segment – the 2011 Equus sedan will come for a cool $58,900, which also includes the shipping charges. This however is the cost of the base version – the Equus Signature.
For those who’d prefer to have more, there is the Equus Ultimate trim that come with such luxuries like reclining rear seats, an entertainment system as well as a refrigerator in the rear console along with so much more. All of this will set one back by $65,400.
It can be mentioned here that the Equus is the flagship model of the South Korean company’s car lineup that seems to be ever expanding. The Equus range of cars gets its power from a 4.6-liter V8 engines that is capable of churning out 385 hp pf peak power. The sedan is all set to hit markets during December when the festive season will be at its height. Hyundai has set itself a sales target of around 2,000 to 3,000 units of the Equus in the first year.
Also, each Equus sedan includes an Apple iPad, one of the most sought after Apple product right now. The iPad serves as the owners manual.
Furthermore, Hyundai has also stated that all Equus sedan comes with a free coverage that would include all factory maintenance costs incurred during the first five years of ownership of the sedan or over 60,000 miles. Hyundai is even bringing the car for a free demonstration to the homes or workplaces of those who can be considered as prospective buyers of the luxury car.
“The traditional luxury brands simply can’t compete with the unique retail and ownership experience we’ll be providing for the Equus owner,” stated John Krafcik, Hyundai boss.
