Hyundai Hope On Wheels provides $400,000 in grants to Duke’s Children’s Hospital

Hyundai Hope On Wheels and Durham-area Hyundai dealerships presented a $400,000 check to Duke’s Children’s Hospital to help enhance care and treatment.

The $400,000 overall is consisted of two grants, a $250,000 Scholar Grant and a $150,000 Young Investigator Grant.

Duke Children’s Hospital was among 34 recipients throughout the nation picked to get the grants.

“Although there remains a lot more work to be done, the advancement that comes from this research will ultimately help us find a cure,” stated Dave Zuchowski, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. “To all the kids, families and cancer researchers fighting this horrible disease– you are not alone and we remain dedicated to this essential cause.”

A nonprofit, Hyundai Hope On Wheels begun in 1998 and it is committed to finding a cure for childhood cancer.

In 2016, HHOW will award over $13 million in new pediatric cancer grants.
