Japanese robotics start-up ZMP Inc is going to list on the Tokyo Stock market December 19, 4 sources knowledgeable about the company’s initial public offering informed Reuters.

SMBC Nikko Securities will lead-manage the deal.

ZMP, a venture company founded in Tokyo in 2001, develops autonomous driving technology. Their first product announced was the humanoid robot PINO in 2001. In July 2015, Sony collaborated with ZMP Inc. to establish a Joint venture called Aerosense, to develop commercial drones for the survey and inspection of hard to access (e.g. remote) areas. The following month, Aerosense launched videos of two prototypes, the AS-DTO1-E VTOL, and the AS-MCO1-P quadcopter.
