A new fully deisgned and engineered in Australia it was shown off at the Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne.
Joss Developments Limited pleased the crowds in Melbourne, releasing new renderings of the car that were accompanied by the JP1’s prototype. It seems that the JP1 will be capable of hitting 360 km/h (224 mph); that’s a full 20 km/h (12 mph) faster than previously reported.
The brand-new JP1 is powered by a 6.6-liter V8 mill that delivers 507 hp and is mated to a Albins Zeroshift Manual Transmission, which is one of the icings on this AU$500,000 (EUR 369,000 or $526,000) cake, helping the unit send the car past the 62 mph mark in under 3 seconds and complete the 0 to 100 mph (160 km/h) sprint in six seconds flat.
The company said they will build 25 production units when it eventually comes to market.
An official statement explains how the transmission works to cut power delivery pauses: “Zeroshift’s technology replaces the synchromesh in a conventional manual gearbox with paired interlocking drive rings that change ratio without interrupting the torque. The lightweight shift forks that control the rings can be shifted using conventional hydraulics that place minimal parasitic loads on the engine. The gearbox architecture with a single clutch is retained.” So the low weight isn’t the only key to its performance.

Very ambitious mass target, probably they use lots of carbon and exotic metals to achieve it.
Hope they succeed and be able to compete with 458 and 12C.
I’m not that sure they will be able to keep it to 940 kg. Though, this suggests joss jp1 to be a mostly a track weapon. I don’t think it will be a competitor for 458 or 12C.
