Kia GT tipped for 2016 launch – report

by SpeedLux

British media has recently reported that Kia will launch a production version of the GT concept sometime around in the year 2016.

The concept had made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the year 2011 and boasting of striking design cues and a rear-wheel drive layout. It came equipped with a V6 3.3-liter turbo engine generating an output of 395 HP (290 kW) sent to the rear axle (which is for the first time in a Kia) with help from an 8-speed gearbox. Well it appears that the concept has now been green-lighted for production and will reach showrooms in 2016, together with its RWD setup.

But before that the company has plans to show a roadster concept at NAIAS to be held in Detroit in January next year, along with a warm Rio GT and a higher-performance version of the cee’d GT. Well that’s not all, Kia also has plans to reveal a new 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder gasoline engine which will be available on the cee apostrophe d starting 2015.

Well the report has revealed very little details and we would like to have more of it but for that we will have to wait for sometime.
